Most recently Alfaro served as the first-ever General Manager of AL DÍA News, a bilingual news organization founded on the mission to challenge mainstream media stereotypes of the Latino experience in the United States and ultimately highlight “The Best of the U.S. Latino and Multicultural Experience”.
In this role, Alfaro led the daily newsroom operation, revenue generation, event programming, special TV programs, digital growth and innovation for the news company.
Alfaro received a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Indian River State College and is pursuing a Master’s degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. In 2018, he founded the annual Martin Alfaro Scholarship at his alma mater to help undergrad students with the financial burden of a college education.
Alfaro serves as Officer at Large for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Philadelphia Chapter and has been part of several non-profit boards, including the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (YPN), ALPFA, and Graduate Philadelphia.
Alfaro was named one of the 41 members of Leadership Philadelphia’s 2022 Keepers Cohort, Innovator of the Year (2022) by the Local Media Association and top 100 most influential figures in the state’s LGBTQ+ community by City and State PA.
