Daniel was a two-time Fulbright grantee in Curitiba, Brazil. Throughout 2017 and 2018, he supported English language learning initiatives at the Federal University of Paraná, including the creation of the first-ever academic writing center at a Brazilian university. Likewise, he volunteered with Education USA, designing and facilitating college-entrance writing courses. Currently, Daniel is also an adjunct instructor online at Virginia Commonwealth University, delivering an asynchronous course that he created for the School of Business entitled Introduction to Intercultural Communication.
Daniel is from just up the road in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. He studied Linguistics, Spanish, and Jewish Studies at the Schreyer Honors College housed in his alma mater Penn State. He has Ashkenazi Jewish roots, with ancestry in Lithuania and Ukraine. He learned Spanish in school, Portuguese in Brazil, and bits of Yiddish at home. He is excited to continue testing out new recipes, improving his yoga practice, and spending as much time as possible outside.
